There may be times you want to include a total page count in your document, e.g., "Page 1 of 44." To do this: Edit your header or footer (wherever you want your page numbers) to place the cursor in the field. At the location of your page number, type Page, then a space, then in the top menu select Insert -> Page Number (or Insert -> Field -> Page Number). To complete the total page count, add a space, then "of" followed by a space, then select Insert -> Field -> Page Field. The total number of pages will be added at the end. You can space and format your total page count as desired.

For some reason, copying text between documents sometimes copies attributes for text and paragraphs across as well. So when I copied a block of raw text from one document it also seemed to enable hyphenated word-wrap (for that paragraph at least). Anyway - to enable or disable this: In Writer's top menu, select Format -> Paragraph. In the Paragraph window, click the Text Flow tab. The first heading is Hyphenation; deselect the box to disable hyphenated word-wrap, or click to enable it. If you enable it, the options (e.g., Characters at line end/begin) seem pretty self-explanatory.

Margin comments and printing in LibreOffice Writer
Gord Barentsen posted an article in Misc. Articles
Currently (5.2.3.3), LibreOffice Writer's interface for dealing with comments is quite clunky. While Microsoft Word will automatically adjust print layout to full-page if you don't have margin comments in your document, LibreOffice Writer will not; you have to adjust the page layout for your document manually. To control margin comments when printing a document: In the top menu, click Tools -> Options. In the Options window, expand the menu list for LibreOffice Writer and select Print. Under the Comments heading, select the None radio button to turn off all margin comments when printing. If you don't do this, all your printed documents will include space in the right-hand margin whether you have margin comments or not. To re-enable the comment space in the right-hand margin, select the In margins radio button. Maybe they'll fix this in the future, but for now this is the only way to toggle the margin-comment space on the right-hand side of the page.
